| When founded in 1967 in the Impasse Saint-Jacques near the Grand Sablon in Brussels, the gallery owned by Pierre Dartevelle, was the first one to specialize in black African Art. Dartevelle’s special interest is in the art of Central Africa, in particular masks and statuettes. He is a Primitive Art expert for the International Expert Organisation. He has also supplied art work to the Louvre Museum, the Quai Branly Museum, and the Art Institute of Chicago. |
